Practicing Since: 2016 Speaks English and Spanish Maria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with extensive experience in the field since 2016. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus on Criminal Justice from Purdue University, graduating summa cum laude. Following this, Maria achieved a Master's degree in Social Work with a Clinical concentration from Fordham University, graduating magna cum laude. She also completed advance studies in Applied Behavior Analysis, which deepened her expertise in behavioral science. Currently, Maria is pursuing BCBA credentials to further enhance her professional capabilities.
Maria specializes in helping individuals with trauma, behavior issues, ADHD, and anxiety, she also focuses on life transitions and adjustment issues. Her work focuses on adolescents and adults. She also addresses women's issues and is certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional. By combining psychodynamic with CBT. She helps clients understand how their past experiences influence their current behavior and emotions, providing effective strategies for personal growth and healing. Incorporating Christian principles into her practice, Maria offers a faith-based approach that supports holistic healing and growth. She is dedicated to guiding clients through a compassionate and insightful journey, helping them overcome challenges and achieve lasting positive change.
Beyond her role with Safe Harbor, Maria operates a private practice where she focuses on business, consultation, and supervision. She's also an educator teaching psychology and mindfulness courses. She has also published several mental health workbooks and is currently in the process of publishing a children's book.
Outside of professional pursuits, Maria enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading. She has a passion for adventure and continuously seek new experiences and horizons.
